New Wellness Hub Says to Pause with Purpose
A sparkling new wellness hub offering a full range of recovery amenities has opened in Jindabyne this winter.
Founded by Paralympian Sam Tait, with the support of his partner and trail runner Natalie Taylor, Revive offers a range of evidence-based services such as Float Therapy, Infrared and Traditional Saunas, Ice Baths, Remedial Massage and Compression Garments all under one roof.
It is designed for anyone, not just athletes, seeking to slow down and enjoy the benefits of recovery.
With extensive sporting experience including two Winter Paralympics as an alpine skier, Sam thoroughly understands the importance of rest and recovery.
Having lived in the Snowy Mountains for over 10 years, Sam noticed the region was missing a high-quality facility dedicated to recovery. With busy winters, growing summers and an active community, he saw a demand and 3 years ago started the journey.
Originally, Sam thought of setting up a recovery centre in his hometown of Bowral in the Southern Highlands, but the lure of the mountains superseded. “Everything happens for a reason”, he says.
Finding the right space took time but they settled in a modern building in Sturgeon Street in Leesville – an up-and-coming precinct where Birchwood, a Pilates and yoga studio, Stone Monkeys, Meadowstore and the Snowy Community markets have all found a home.
Since the fitout was completed in February it’s been all hands-on deck to successfully open the centre – and in style.
Revive offers state-of-the-art facilities including cork floors and skirtings, beautiful tiling, wall lights and circular archways, which create a refined, warm and inviting atmosphere.
A glimpse of Revive’s infrared sauna. Unlike traditional saunas, infrared heat penetrates deeper into the body.
“The serene ambience makes it the perfect place to disconnect from the stresses of everyday life”, a recent guest commented.
Sam believes that having all three services – saunas, ice baths and float tank – in one space is what sets Revive apart.
Hot/cold therapy is a highly proven treatment for recovery, and a standard session at Revive lasts around 55 minutes. Plunge in the cold 6-degree water before entering the traditional sauna where you start to heat and sweat as you bring new blood back into your muscles that you just flushed out in the cold water.
The float tank is an exceptional addition. Guests float in a tank which is deprived of sound and light and has 1kg of salt per litre of water. The reaction of salt and water create magnesium which is spread throughout the tank and absorbed by the body. The body will only absorb as much magnesium as it needs. Float tank sessions are single use and start around 30 minutes.
Reflecting on recovery during his competitive years, Sam said, “I like it (recovery) because you switch off, you don’t bring your phone into the sauna and there’s no TV so you can just kind of leave everything behind”.
After a day on the mountain treat sore muscles to a remedial massage via appointment or a session in the recovery room where you can recharge with compression garments, theroguns, foam rollers and mobility equipment. A range of Pillar Performance products and merchandise is also available for purchase at reception.
Jane Jones, massage therapist for Revive says, “What truly sets Revive apart is its atmosphere. The centre is clean, calming, and beautifully designed. The staff are genuinely passionate about wellness. It’s truly a hidden gem in Jindabyne”.

When I interviewed Sam and Natalie in July, the centre was having the final touches of work done. The original goal was to open early in the 2026 Winter, but Sam wanted to be completely ready, “you can’t rush this sort of thing”, he said.
Sam’s goal is for Revive to become a nationally recognised recovery centre that when you come down to the Snowy Mountains, everyone just knows you go to Revive for recovery. He also wants to educate the younger generation. And the emphasis on health and wellness is growing. “Everyone is into longevity and wants to live longer these days”, Natalie says.
Revive is a welcome addition to Jindabyne and wonderful example of passion and experience coming together in a close-knit sports loving community.
The tagline ‘Your Pause Has Purpose’ is meaningful too. “When you’re doing nothing and in recovery, there’s a purpose in it for your body and mind, so it fits with the vibe really well”, Sam says.
